Minimum Viable Product

Everybody  –  Stickies & Markers   –  15 Minutes

How to Run Minimum Viable Product

  1. Have all of the components of a project listed on individual sticky notes
  2. Introduce the process, telling the group that you’re going to be narrowing down the sticky notes to the ones that are absolutely necessary for launch
  3. Take one component, read it out to the group, then have them discuss if this is an MVP step or non-MVP
  4. If the group decides it’s not an MVP step, remove the sticky note and keep it for future reference
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all sticky notes have been sorted

Example & Prompt

You are discussing the launch of the new website for your business. You are starting to dream about your perfect website and realize that the scope of that project far exceeds the timeline. You suggest to your team that you need to now focus on creating the MVP of the website that can be launched within the time frame.

You list all components of the website on individual stickies, then, with your team, narrow those sticky notes down to the minimum essentials for the website to be viable.
