How to Run Finger Voting
- Tell the group what you’re checking in about
- Inform them what the scale is
- Vote by having everyone hold up their fingers or by putting a number in the chat
Examples & Prompts
Assess the groups comfort level
“On a scale of 1-5 how comfortable are you in the water? One being barely experienced and five being prolific swimmers, show me where you rate your skill level.”
Assess how a conversation went
“How intense did you find the discussion of the last topic on a scale of one to five? One being ‘not at all intense’ and five being ‘I might need a quick break before we move one’ which are you feeling right now?
Assess previous knowledge
“On a scale of one to five, one being I’ve never heard of this before, and five being I could write a whole book on the subject, where are you?”
