How to Run Comments & Critiques
- Before the session, prepare the material you’d like the group to comment on
- Display the information to the group
- Give everyone an appropriate amount of time to review the information
- Ask the group for their initial observations of what they’re noticing about what is being displayed
- Continue to encourage different participants to share their thoughts, asking more specific questions as needed
Example & Prompt
You are teaching a multi-step process to a group. After going through each of the steps individually, you share a single slide summarizing the entire five-step process.
You ask the group, “What observations do you have about this process now that you’ve seen the steps laid out together?”
After discussion, ask, “Are there any questions that you have now that you’re seeing this entire process? Any changes or adjustments you want to make?”
