I Know Vs. I Wonder
Everybody – Flipchart & Markers – 10 Minutes

How to Run I Know Vs. I Wonder
- Set up two flip charts, one labeled “Know” and the other “Wonder”
- Introduce the prompt to the group and identify what you’ll be brainstorming about
- Have everyone brainstorm what they “know” first, capturing their ideas on the flip chart
- Then repeat with the “wonder” flip chart
- Fill out both flip charts with any final ideas
Example & Prompt
Using a shared reference point, ask the group to first come up with things they know related to the topic, then capture their lingering questions asking what they wonder.
- “What are some things you know about facilitation, and what are some things you wonder?”
- “What are some things that you know about Elizabeth Bennet’s character or the Bennet family dynamics and what are things you wonder after last night’s reading?”
- “What are some things you know about the new management software and what are some of the things you wonder?”
