Popcorn Share
Everybody – No Supplies – 5 Minutes

How to Run Popcorn Share
- Provide a prompt for the group to respond to
- Advise the group on how they should volunteer to answer (raised hands, shouting out, etc.)
- Begin selecting volunteers or hearing from those who wish to speak
- You can wait until you hit a certain amount of answers, or continue hearing from the group until all volunteers have gone
Example & Prompt
This process works for a wide variety of prompts:
- “As we close day one of this workshop, does anyone have any questions they’re pondering or thoughts they feel compelled to share?”
- “Coming back from your pair discussions, does anyone want to share out for their pair what Facilitator Card you picked for this scenario and why?”
- “When you think about strategic planning, what [emotion] words come to mind?”
- “Shout out a word that comes to mind when I say leadership.”
- “I want to get five different emotions people are feeling after watching that video.”
Debrief tip: As the facilitator, you can help guide the shares in various directions by asking, “Does anyone have a really different response than what was just shared?”
