How to Run Poster Presentation
- Split everyone into small groups (4-5 people) and tell each group that they will be creating a poster, describing what that poster will look like and any specific pieces you want to see included
- Let them know how much time they’ll have for creating the poster and how they’ll be sharing the poster once everyone has finished
- Provide the specific prompt or prompt sequences
- Pass out materials (or have one person from each group come up and get their supplies)
- Begin once every group has materials
- After making their poster, have the groups share their poster with everyone — have them nominate a representative to share or have the entire group present
Example & Prompt
You are hosting a gathering of community members who want to envision the future of their town. Invite them to spend 10 minutes in small groups making a poster about the different aspects of what their ideal sustainable community would look like, capturing as many components as possible.
Let them know that it can be entirely drawn, written, or have headlines and sections, but that there should be some visual aspect to it.
After 10 minutes give them time to wrap up and choose two representatives to share their poster out with the larger group.
