Examples & Prompts
Inertia Decisions
“I can see there’s a lot of energy around this decision. Before we go any further into planning and next steps I’d like us to spend 5 minutes with a pro/con list to ensure that we see the full scope of the decision. We’ll also see whether we are all as on board as it seems we are, and if so, the cons will be helpful for us in the conversations about next steps.”
Absolutes
“I’m hearing the words always and never. To me that indicates that there are some strong opinions here. I’d like to take the next 10 minutes to record those opinions as a pro/con list. Let’s get into it.”
Stuck & Unsure
“This is a big thing we’re discussing. In order to help us see the full scope of it, and perhaps move us in a yea or nay direction, we’re going to make a pro/con list.”
