Statement Signs
Everybody – Paper & Markers – 15 Minutes

How to Run Statement Signs
- Explain the process to the group
- Provide the prompt the group will be responding to
- Pass out materials (pro tip: use bold markers to make signs easier to read)
- Give everyone 1-2 minutes to create their sign
- Have everyone move around the space holding their sign in front of them while reading each other’s
- After all signs have been read, bring the group back for debrief
Example & Prompt
It’s important that everyone’s statement fits on their sign. We recommend using a Fill In The Blank style of prompt helps the group keep their responses brief.
This process can be used in a wide variety of situations:
- “Ultimately I think facilitation is about ___”
- “As a facilitator I’m most thrown off by ___”
- “The part of this new policy that most concerns me is ___”
- “I believe we have a responsibility to ___”
