Welcome Card Carrier!

This page is dedicated to helping you get started with your new deck of Facilitator Cards.

Watch this short video where Meg will
introduce you to what’s on this page and get you started using your cards!

THREE WAYS TO GET STARTED

We’ve got three ways to transform you from “Okay… how exactly do I use these?” to “I can’t wait to use these!” in just one hour.

#1  – THE WORKBOOK

The Facilitator Cards 101 Workbook helps you get to know the deck. We provide real life scenario challenges (and expert answers!) and you get to start using your cards right away.

Great for reading and working at your own pace.

By the end of this workbook you’ll have

  • created an entire agenda using Facilitator Cards
  • understand what the colors and categories mean
  • three examples of expert crafted facilitation agendas

Estimated time: 1 hour

#2 – WORKSHOP

As facilitators we love to learn in live time.

Join the Facilitator Cards 101 Workshop on Zoom facilitated by Facilitator Cards founder Meg Bolger to learn about your cards with other card-carrying Facilitators!

Great for those who prefer to learn with others and enjoy making connections with other facilitators!

You will leave the workshop knowing:

  • which cards you know and don’t know
  • how to use your cards to solve facilitation scenarios
  • why Facilitator Cards are categorized as they are

Time: 1 hour

Workshop provided every 2-3 months. We alternate times that are US/Europe friendly and US/Australia friendly every other time!

Here’s the next one!

#3 – THE WATCH ALONG

Sometimes you just can’t wait until the next live workshop rolls around.

And we don’t want to keep you waiting! So you can view a watch-a-long recording of Facilitator Cards 101 workshop and start learning right now!

Great for learners those who learn through audio or video and like to go at their own pace!

You’ll finish the video knowing:

  • which cards you know and don’t know
  • how to use your cards to solve facilitation scenarios
  • why Facilitator Cards are categorized as they are

Time: 1 hour

GOT 5 MINUTES RIGHT NOW?

Take out your cards and follow the instructions below to be ready to use your cards more effectively in 5 minutes.

Ready?

1) Turn your deck to the blank side, so that you’re only seeing the title of the cards and the white space.

2) Read the title of the first card and place that card into one of two piles. Cards you think you know or cards you don’t think you know. Don’t read the text on the other side to double check. Just sort the deck as fast as possible into these two piles.

3) Continue to sort the whole deck this way into the two piles, it shouldn’t take more than 2-3 minutes.

4) After you’ve sorted your cards you can go back and check out the cards you don’t know and see if you do!

Why this is helpful

You’ve just created two different mini decks that you can use in fundamentally different ways.

CARDS YOU KNOW
These are the cards to use when you’re planning for a session right now. You already are familiar with them and maybe have facilitated the process before and this deck serves as reminders for the tools you already have (but often times we forget to use)!

CARDS YOU DON’T KNOW
These are the cards to explore when you’re looking for additional inspiration! You may not know these right away but becoming familiar with them with expand your repertoire and may spark new creativity and ideas!

EXPLORE CARD PAGES

At the bottom of each Facilitator Card there is a tiny URL like fc.cards/minute

Each one of those URLs will take you to that cards page where you can find the directions for the process written out step-by-step AND a prompt and example for each card.
